Minister of Housing Assem El-Gazzar met with Chairperson of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, Yehia Zaki, via videoconference on Thursday to discuss the development plan of the international economic zone east Gulf of Suez, commonly known as “Eastern Gate of Egypt.”
The minister stressed the necessity of incorporating activities between the economic zone east Gulf of Suez and New Suez city, in order to integrate local communities, and to accommodate their activities in development plans.
He instructed making detailed plans of the proposed projects to identify priorities.
El-Gazzar also ordered determining the size of demand for housing units in New Suez city, as the ministry, represented by the New Urban Communities Authority, is ready to start implementing the required units in the city.
Meanwhile, Zaki reviewed the current industrial activities in the region, active ports and plans to maximise their utilization, stressing that the infrastructure of these ports qualifies them to receive large ships.
