Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf, on Sunday, in a meeting that addressed bilateral relations between the two sides.
During the meeting, the President emphasised the specificity of the Egyptian-GCC relations, and the link between Gulf security and Egypt’s national security. Whilst calling it one of the firm constants of Egyptian policy, Al-Sisi also expressed his aspiration to develop relations with the GCC in various fields.
Moreover, the President highlighted the principles of Egypt’s policy aimed at building, cooperating with, and supporting Arab solidarity as an authentic strategic approach. This comes as part of the mutual respect and commitment to sincere intentions, to achieve the common interest and solidarity to preserve the Arab national security.
For his part, GCC Secretary-General praised the brotherly relations between Egypt and the GCC nations, whilst highlighting the mutual keenness to boost these relations. He also hailed Egypt’s pivotal role in protecting Arab national security.
