Egypt’s Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and Education and Technical Education Tarek Shawky met, on Monday, to discuss methods of integrating Egypt’s pre-university and university education systems.
The proposed integration of the country’s education system will ensure that it develops according to international standards.
Abdel Ghaffar said that his ministry is fully coordinating with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, to enhance the education system. This will take place by putting a significant focus on applying new teaching techniques for students, in addition to providing a system for discovering talented students and developing their skills.
He noted the important role played by the Egyptian Knowledge Bank in providing books, databases for all students, researchers, and teachers. It will enable studemts to have complete and adequate access to global sources of knowledge in science, technology, medicine, and social and human sciences.
Moreover, Shawky said that the teacher is one of the most important pillars to develop the education system, and full coordination is taking place in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific research to raise the skill and professional level of teachers.
He added that courses have recently been added to the curricula at Egypt’s various Faculties of Education that will qualify students at these colleges to work as teachers across all stages of pre-university education. It will come in accordance with the latest international educational systems and standards.
He also said that the number of hours spent in practical classes aimed at training Faculty of Education students has also been increased.
The meeting also tackled at the Egyptian Knowledge Bank services which are provided to the country’s academic community, which are designed to help Egyptian researchers publish their articles with editorial support in international journals. This comes in addition to programmes and training courses provided by the Egyptian Knowledge Bank to raise the capabilities of academic staff.
