Egypt’s Central Metallurgical Research Institute (CMRDI) has signed a joint cooperation protocol with the Center of Management Development (CMD), linking scientific research with industry.
The move will also see the role of research centres in community participation maximised. Meanwhile, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar reviewed, on Monday, a report by CMRDI on the agreement.
The report explained that this cooperation agreement aims to ensure benefits from the CMRDI’s capabilities to prepare training and rehabilitation programmes. This would transfer scientific and research expertise to engineers and technicians working at factories in Egypt and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
The protocol also included the implementation of practical training and the provision of the necessary logistical services to open new markets in the MENA region.
The CMD will identify the training programmes needed locally and internationally, and provide the necessary material and logistical support to the CMRDI in this field.
The report indicated that the CMRDI has organised a symposium to discuss the importance of the initiative that aims to deepen local manufacturing in the field of household appliances. The initiative cooperates with major industrial companies to develop refrigeration technology in refrigerators and air conditioners.
