The General Authority for Health Care has launched a remote medical consultation service to follow up on home isolation cases of patients with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) who benefit from the new comprehensive health insurance system in Luxor Governorate.
The service is available free of charge via the number 01558035455.
The authority indicated that the medical advice line is one of the innovative technological solutions that it has allocated in confronting the pandemic. It pointed out that it contributes to providing medical consultations and sound awareness for patients, especially those with chronic diseases, as they are the groups most affected by the complications of infection.
During the trial run of the medical advice line, which was set up in mid-May, 600 cases of home isolation have been followed up on. A total of 300 cases have recovered, with 16 home visits carried out, and eight cases transferred for hospital treatment.
Through the line, psychological support is also provided to coronavirus patients.
The authority added that the medical advice line was not limited to receiving calls only within the Luxor Governorate, but also received calls from further afield, indicating the confidence of citizens in the level of service provided.
