The Egyptian Ministry of Finance has announced that 3,000 citizens have obtained new cars as part of the presidential initiative to replace aging vehicles with new ones powered by natural gas.
The ministry said that deliveries started from April through the end of July. During this period, about EGP 73.3m, the value of the green incentive, has been spent.
The ministry pointed out that it is seeking, in coordination with various concerned authorities, to accelerate the pace of work on this presidential initiative during the next phase, and it is scheduled to deliver 1,700 new cars to the beneficiaries during August 2021.
Last April, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly handed over the first batch of new dual-fuel cars to a number of beneficiaries of the presidential initiative.
