Dubai-based singer Michele has released a new single, entitled “Sea in Your Eyes”. The UAE singer has teamed up with influential producer Jay Wud for her new single.
“Sea in Your Eyes is very experimental compared to the usual type of music I make, it also feels revolutionary,’ said Michele.
That revolutionary aspect comes from the new writing and producing arrangement between Michele and Jay Wud.
The single started as an exercise to create a melody and lyrics and then expanded into a full song which resulted in the mellow yet stormy sounds of ‘Sea In Your Eyes’ which has a widescreen, almost cinematic sound to it.
The track follows the sea analogy, building from a calm and gentle start before surging and swelling into the chorus with pulsing drums and fizzing melodies. Sense of flow, of ups and downs is represented in the lyrics and inspiration for the track.
“The inspiration behind ‘Sea In Your Eyes’ is Lebanon. I was going back to Dubai after a holiday in Lebanon when I wrote it and I felt this sadness towards the country,” says Michele.
Michele manages to capture the bittersweet joy of Lebanon, a wonderful country going through hard times, in her latest single ‘Sea in Your Eyes”.
Dubai-based Michele started her musical career in 2019 and has already had airplay from BBC Introducing and featured on several high-profile Spotify playlists.
She’s performed at several festivals and shows across the UAE including Homegrown in Abu Dhabi and the Al Quoz Arts Festival last year.
