Egypt’s Assistant Minister of Higher Education for Digital Transformation, Hisham Farouk, has announced the recommendations of the “Higher Education and Scientific Research Forum in the Era of Digital Transformation”.
The forum was organized by the Higher Education Ministry over two days in Ain Sokhna city, in the presence of heads of public, private, international, and technological universities, as well as research institutes.
The forum asserted the need to meet the university’s information technology needs, and provide the appropriate infrastructure that helps them in digital transformation.
The forum called for forming an executive committee to follow up on the implementation of the plan for the Digital Student initiative, which was launched during the forum’s activities.
The forum confirmed the need to involve foreign and private universities in the digital platform for the national projects of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The Ministry of Higher Education has to provide technical support to develop a road map and define the steps that must be followed to achieve digital transformation in educational institutions.
The forum comes in the framework of the national strategy for digital transformation towards achieving the goals of the sustainable development plan (Egypt Vision 2030).
The forum aims to promote a culture of digital transformation in the academic community, and to present the vision of the university educational environment in the era of fourth generation universities; to ensure that educational institutions continue to perform their work optimally.
