Mohamed El-Alqamy, director of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) in Gharbeya, has said the agency has pumped more than EGP 14.2m into 349 small and micro enterprises in Zefta district, which provided nearly 931 jobs from January to October 2021.
These achievements are a continuation of the efforts made in the initiative to develop the Egyptian countryside and improve living standards for citizens by developing the capabilities of the residents of the targeted centers and villages, as well as enhancing their productive skills, and helping them establish small and micro projects that improve their lives. The initiative targets young people and provides the necessary funds and training courses to help them set up new small projects or expand existing ones.
MSMEDA’s branch in Gharbeya is currently participating in the seminars of “Dawar” sessions, held in cooperation with the National Council for Women, in the village of Tafna El-Azab in Zefta, during which the concept of financial inclusion and its importance is presented, how to set up a small project, develop project work plans, and present the types of funds. Other similar seminars are expected to be held in the village of Nahtai this month.
El-Alqamy asked young men and women to head to the branch’s headquarters to learn about all the services provided by the agency and how to benefit from them and join the seminars.
As for non-financing services, he explained that the branch organized a series of introductory seminars to present all the services provided by the agency, and the advantages and facilities of the new project development law, with regard to the procedures and steps for establishing the project and getting assistance with marketing products. A percentage of government purchases will be allocated to these projects, in addition to a simplified tax system. The branch also organized dozens of training programs and courses aimed at developing entrepreneurship skills, and handicraft training, including leather manufacturing courses, decoupage (printing on wood), and embroidery courses, in cooperation with some NGOs in Gharbeya.
