Celebrating the New Year’s Eve, some Egyptian children dressed as Santa Claus presented Christmas and New Year’s gifts to tourists at Luxor Temple to spread cheerful and relaxing vibes.
General Manager of Luxor Temple, Ahmed Orabi, said that multinational tourist groups visited the temple last week.
Luxor Temple became trending worldwide after November’s captivating and breathtaking reopening ceremony of the legendary 3,400-year-old Avenue of the Sphinxes.
The well-organized ceremony, which reflected the richness of Luxor heritage, helped in promoting the city. The event included a re-enactment of the Opet Festival, an annual ancient celebration and carnival held by Egyptian dynasties in the presence of kings to celebrate the River Nile and fertility.
As Opet started from Karnak to the Luxor Temples to celebrate Amon, Mut, and Khenso, all dancing performances followed the same ancient route.
