Egyptian Naval Forces participated on Tuesday in an international maritime training drill (IMX/CE22), which will continue for several days with participation from the Western Joint Forces Command.
The drill, which will be conducted by the Southern Fleet in the Red Sea, came within the Egyptian Armed Forces’ plan to raise the level of training and exchange experiences with the armed forces of friendly countries.
The IMX/CE22 is considered one of the largest joint international maritime exercises in the world. About 51 countries participate in the Joint Command Centre for Training in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The drill is expected to witness the implementation of a number of theoretical and practical training activities with the aim of unifying maritime concepts among the participating countries.
It will also include training on confronting atypical maritime threats, implementing maritime security measures, securing ships with important cargo, in addition to combating naval mines.
The drill comes as an affirmation of the depth of the strategic relations between the Egyptian Armed Forces and the 51 countries participating in the training, which contributes to supporting efforts for maritime security and stability in the region.
