The Sokhna Port — which is affiliated with the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) — received on Friday evening a Panamanian ship named ‘BLANCO ACE’ coming from Jeddah carrying 1,513 cars on board. The BLANCO ACE is a RORO-type vessel and is the third ship of its kind to be received by the port.
In a press statement on Saturday, the SCZone stated that the ship was carrying 1,513 Suzuki cars, and its handling work is scheduled to be completed within two days as part of the reception and handling works of DP World, the dock operator in the port, at the new berth in the second basin.
The statement added that all necessary procedures are being taken to unload the ship, including providing drivers to move cars from inside the ship to the storage yard.
Additionally, the Port is currently witnessing ongoing development in infrastructure and is constructing new basins and berths with various activities along with trading yards and logistical areas that add many advantages to the port in order to boost its competitiveness in the Red Sea.
