Omar Al-Sahi — the General Manager of Amazon Egypt — said that the company does not plan to review the prices of products within the Ramadan offers after the value of the USD changed on Monday.
Al-Sahi told Daily News Egypt during an online press conference held on Tuesday, that the company has been planning its Ramadan offers for a while, and the products have been provided in the company’s stores to ensure that they are delivered to customers as soon as possible, and therefore any changes in their prices currently means that the company would be seeking to increase its profits at the expense of the customer, which is not Amazon’s goal.
During the meeting, Al-Sahi revealed that the company will strengthen its investments in Egypt during 2022, which will provide more than 2,000 new job opportunities on top of the more than 1,500 jobs provided by the company since the launch of its operations in Egypt last year.
Amazon supports the digital transformation process in Egypt by employing and rehabilitating human cadres, refining their skills, and providing them with promising professional opportunities in the digital economy.
The company is also taking initiative to keep pace with the increasing demand for its services, as it intends to double the delivery capacity during 2022 by establishing new delivery stations in west and east Cairo, Alexandria Port, and Benha in order to support its resources to ensure the provision of its services and products throughout the country, while providing express same-day delivery services in Cairo and Giza, and next day delivery in most parts of the republic.
