Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned all acts of violence and terrorism targeting civilians in eastern Tel Aviv, saying that would only lead to escalating tensions between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.
Five people were killed and six injured in a terrorist attack perpetrated by a gunman on a motorcycle in Bnei Brak, eastern Tel Aviv, before being killed by Israeli police forces.
“Israel is facing a wave of murderous Arab terror,” Prime Minister Naftali Bennett tweeted after the shootings.
Ahmed Hafez — the Spokesperson for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs —stressed Egypt’s complete rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism, asserting the need to intensify all necessary efforts to maintain calm between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.
He warned against the consequences of mutual escalation that only perpetuates an atmosphere of congestion and frustration and undermines the pillars of stability in region.
Furthermore, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the killing of Israeli civilians and stressed that such acts would only lead to a deterioration of the situation, cautioning against retaliatory attacks by Jewish settlers and others, Palestinian Wafa news agency reported.
A few days ago, two young men were killed after carrying out a shooting in Hadera, south of Haifa. Their attack resulted in the killing of two Israeli policemen and the wounding of others.
