El-Sherbiny won her sixth title in the history of the World Squash Championship, winning the title in 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. She is now close to equalling the record of Malaysian legend Nicole David, who won 8 titles.
El-Sherbiny started this tournament by defeating Spanish Cristina Gomez (No. 51) 3-0, before she beat Kenzi Ayman (No. 79) 3-1, and in the 8th round, she beat Belgium’s Tesny Gillis (No. 13) 3-0. She also defeated Sarah Jean-Pierre (No.6) 3-1, in the quarter-finals, and in the semi-finals, she defeated Nour Al-Tayeb 3-1.

El-Sherbiny is the youngest player in the world to win the World Junior Championships.
