During his current visit to the Italian capital of Rome, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled El-Anany held a meeting with Ivana Jelinic — President of the Italian Tourism Companies’ Association (FIAVET) — at the Egyptian Embassy in Rome, where they discussed enhancing cooperation to attract more tourism from Italy.
During the meeting, the most prominent developments in the tourism sector in Egypt were reviewed in addition to the efforts made by the Egyptian state to push more incoming tourist movement to the country from various tourist markets, including the Italian market.
They also reviewed the noticeable growth witnessed by the volume of demand for the Egyptian tourist destination from international markets in general and the Italian market in particular, and the remarkable increase in the tourist movement coming to Egypt from Italy.
The meeting also dealt with organising a number of introductory visits in the upcoming period for the most important Italian tour operators dealing with the Egyptian tourist destination and representatives of the Italian media specialised in tourism, provided that these visits include trips to Sharm El Sheikh and other tourist cities in South Sinai.
Finally, they discussed the implementation of a number of joint advertising campaigns to promote the Egyptian tourist destination in the Italian market, especially in light of the Italian side’s eagerness to visit many Egyptian tourist destinations and cities.
