Ibrahim Abdel Khalek, Deputy Chairperson of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) for Investment and Promotion Affairs, and Gabor Jenei, Deputy CEO of the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA) signed a cooperation protocol between the two sides. The protocol aims for exchanging experiences, cooperating to promote investments, and working on developing projects and information systems in SCZone’s affiliated ports.
SCZone announced this signing in early February during the promotional tour of SCZone’s Chairperson in Hungary. This came during the closing ceremony of the Egyptian-Hungarian Joint Business Forum chaired by Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, Peter Siarto, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Hungarian Minister of Economic Development, as part of the activities of the Hungarian Prime Minister’s visit to Cairo yesterday.
It is worth mentioning that this protocol was discussed and signed after the intensive meetings held by the chairman of SCZone with officials of HEPA, as well as discussing ways of cooperation and investment in industrial sectors, including automotive and electronics, which SCZone aims to settle in its industrial zones.
It should be noted that the cooperation protocol aims to exchange experiences between the two parties and implement training and development programs for the human cadres of SCZone, as well as support development projects. It also includes technical support for the development of SCZone’s port information systems.
