The Japan International Cooperation Agency’s (JICA) offices in Egypt and Okinawa will organize a hybrid event titled “Promoting Social and Continuous Learning in Egypt and Japan” at Fairmont Nile City hotel on 26 March.

The event will bring together NGOs that have supported social education in Egypt and those involved in Japanese-style schools, community centers, and Egyptian community centers to hold sessions based on hybrid and innovative approaches.

There will be award certificates that will be represented to the graduates of “Social and Continues Learning Coordinator (SCLC) Program” and Taa Kominkan team.

Moreover, the event will shed light on the importance of deepening the understanding and the collaboration between NGOs in both Egypt and Japan with the aim of improving the quality of social education and continuous learning.

Additionally, the participants will introduce innovative practices and policies in Egypt and Japan related to social education and NGOs in all its forms.

It is worth mentioning that the Kominkan concept started in Japan right after World War II as a way of development through social learning and sharing experience and skills among citizens.

There are more than 14,000 Kominkan around Japan, which is not only the most familiar learning center for residents, but also plays an important role as a place of communication and exchange through social activities.
