A prominent delegation of over 20 Argentine businessmen will arrive in Cairo to strengthen the commercial ties between Argentina and Egypt.

The mission, led by the Secretary of International Economic Relations, Ambassador Cecilia Todesca Bocco, represents a variety of key sectors with high demand in Egypt, such as dairy products, pharmaceuticals, food, grains and legumes, auto parts, and chemicals, among others.

Along with the business delegation, the Minister of Health of Argentina, Carla Vizzotti, will arrive and participate in the Africa Health Excon fair, where she will support the efforts of companies in the health and pharmaceutical sector and meet with Egyptian authorities.

Throughout June 7th, the Argentine businessmen will conduct business meetings with local counterparts, as reported by the Argentine Embassy in Egypt. Additionally, visits to establishments and meetings with importers, distributors, and regulatory agencies have been scheduled in order to explore new exchange opportunities.

The Argentine Ambassador, Gonzalo Urriolabeitia, has highlighted the breadth and diversity of Argentine companies, as well as the enormous interest they have generated among Egyptian entrepreneurs. In this regard, Urriolabeitia emphasized the collaboration with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC) and the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) to make the most of this visit and promote as many contacts as possible. “We hope to demonstrate the variety, quality, and competitiveness of our products and thus continue strengthening our role as reliable suppliers in a global market affected by disruptions in production and trade chains, as well as price increases in strategic products,” said Urriolabeitia.

Bilateral trade between Argentina and Egypt has consistently reached around 2 billion dollars annually, driven by a high degree of complementarity and the Free Trade Agreement between MERCOSUR and Egypt, which has been in effect since 2017.

This business mission in Cairo represents a significant step in strengthening the commercial ties between Argentina and Egypt. Both nations hope to achieve new beneficial trade agreements and open new business opportunities in various key sectors of the economy.
