The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA) has signed a cooperation contract with eAswaaq Misr, affiliated to e-finance, to manage, operate, and market the first electronic platform for SMEs in Egypt, which will be officially launched within the next three months.

Basil Rahmi, CEO of MSMEDA, said that the platform is a continuation of the agency’s action plan, which aims to digitize various services that support youth and citizens wishing to start new projects or expand their existing enterprises.

He explained that the main objective of the platform is to provide services to projects in a modern technological way. Through that, it aims to encourage existing enterprise owners to benefit from the services provided by various entities concerned with small enterprises. It also aims to motivate young people to enter the field of self-employment, and to establish projects in various fields required in the market.

Rahmi indicated that the platform includes a large number of entities concerned with supporting small enterprises, including banks, NGOs, and government agencies.

He added that the platform’s services will include introducing training providers, whether specialized technical or entrepreneurial training, and provide self-employment insights, marketing opportunities in local exhibitions, and ways to participate in them, along with e-marketing mechanisms. It will also work to increase networking opportunities between large and small enterprises and provide opportunities for export to Arab and African markets.

Rahmi praised the cooperation with eAswaaq Misr in operating and managing the platform, due to its extensive experience in this field, stressing that the process of developing the platform is continuous and permanent to meet the growing needs of project owners.

Rahmi invited all parties interested in supporting the small business sector to participate in the platform and have their services reach the largest possible number of clients.

Ibrahim Sarhan, Chairperson and CEO of e-finance, expressed his pride in this partnership, stressing the importance of cooperation in advancing the success of the SMEs sector. It is considered one of the most important pillars of comprehensive economic development and one of the most accommodating sectors or employment. It also represents a strong link in the supply chains for various economic sectors and projects, which we must support technologically in order to benefit from the gains of digital transformation.

Islam Mamoun, Managing Director and CEO of eAswaaq Misr, said: “We are pleased with this cooperation with MSMEDA in managing the first platform for MSMEs in Egypt, and this is a good start for cooperation, as there are many other axes of cooperation underway.”
