The Ministry of Health and Population announced that it offered health awareness to more than 700,000 citizens in all governorates, through its outreach and community communication teams, in conjunction with Christmas celebrations.

The ministry said that this was part of its efforts to spread health awareness among citizens by following healthy methods and correct eating habits, and the necessity of adhering to precautionary and preventive measures, especially during the winter season.

Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the ministry, explained that health awareness was offered in the St. Mark’s Cathedral in Abbasiya, and around and inside churches and monasteries in the governorates of the republic, in conjunction with the Christmas celebrations for the current year 2024.

Abdel Ghaffar added that the community communication teams offered health awareness on the importance and methods of preventing infectious and respiratory diseases, and introduced the services of the “100 Million Health” initiatives provided by the ministry, and urged citizens to participate and benefit from them.

The community communication teams also raised awareness among citizens about the importance of the population issue, and the family planning services provided by family planning clinics and centres in primary care units, around and inside churches and monasteries, and in public gardens, parks, main squares, and gathering places.

Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that medical examination and free treatment were provided to 90,000 citizens, through 72 mobile clinics in all governorates of the republic, which offered services for public health initiatives under the slogan “100 Million Health.”

The “100 Million Health” included initiatives to treat chronic diseases and detect kidney disease, detect and treat cancerous tumors, support women’s health, and care for maternal and fetal health, in addition to family planning services, and oral and dental health clinics.

Abdel Ghaffar stressed the ministry’s keenness to provide medical and therapeutic services to citizens during religious celebrations and gatherings, in line with the plan of the ministry to provide medical services to citizens during periods of celebrations and holidays.
