India has pledged to significantly reduce emissions from its automotive industry, with a target of cutting total emissions intensity by 45% by 2030.

The country also aims to fully transition to green technologies by 2070, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.

To achieve these ambitious goals, the Indian government has unveiled an e-mobility Research and Development Roadmap focusing on four key areas: battery improvement, electric vehicle development, materials manufacturing and recycling, and charging infrastructure enhancement.

Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, said the roadmap is essential for fostering a culture of research and development and innovation in the automotive sector.
