Bayt al-Hikma for Culture has published a new book, “A New Paradigm for International Relations,” offering an analysis of China’s approach to international relations and its vision for a “Shared Future Community for Humanity.” Authored by Ahmed Al-Saeed and Emad Al-Azraq, the 241-page volume examines China’s proposals and their implications for the global order.
The book delves into the scientific and historical underpinnings of China’s initiatives over the past decade. It analyzes China’s current vision for the future, assessing global threats across political, economic, and social domains. The authors also explore the impact of these initiatives, their international resonance, implementation mechanisms, the potential role of Arab nations, and the future of Arab-Chinese cooperation.
Al-Saeed and Al-Azraq, both specialists in Chinese affairs, examine the ideological and historical context of this new approach to international relations. The book addresses key questions, including whether this approach can mitigate global conflicts, how the West might respond, and the potential role of Arab nations. It provides political analyses of the global landscape and offers insights into China’s diplomatic strategies and intentions. The authors note the unprecedented changes and conflicts shaping the world, with a shift in global power dynamics from unipolarity to multipolarity. They highlight China’s growing global influence and its potential to foster stability and peace.
The research draws on extensive Chinese and international sources, including international and Arab analyses of international political science, specialized studies on China, and numerous previously untranslated modern Chinese sources. This ensures the book’s arguments are grounded in verifiable facts and evidence.
The book presents comparative analyses of the existing global order, established by the United States, and China’s proposed alternative. The authors highlight China’s focus on international initiatives promoting shared development, conflict resolution, and peace. They note that China’s “Shared Future Community for Humanity” initiative, emphasizing collaboration and convergence, has gained significant international support. They suggest that China’s initiatives have contributed to a new international landscape defined by equality, mutual respect, enhanced economic cooperation, and shared developmental goals.
The authors argue that understanding the historical and ideological underpinnings of China’s initiatives towards peaceful coexistence is crucial. They aim to provide a vision for the future based on China’s call for a community driven by shared participation in development. Their analysis posits that China’s role is not simply to replace existing power structures, but to facilitate a shift away from control and dominance, allowing nations to pursue their own development paths. This, they conclude, will create new opportunities within the evolving landscape of international relations.
