The Moscow Kremlin Museums have partnered with TV BRICS International Media Network to promote the museum’s exhibition projects internationally. The agreement, designed to boost media coverage of the museum’s projects in Russia and abroad, particularly within the BRICS media space, was signed by Elena Gagarina, General Director of the Moscow Kremlin Museums, and Ivan Polyakov, Chairman of TV BRICS. The signing ceremony took place in the Patriarchal Chambers.

Under the agreement, TV BRICS will serve as an international media partner for the upcoming exhibition, “Exquisite Meal. The History of Food in Ancient China,” scheduled to open at the Moscow Kremlin Museums in April 2025. The exhibition marks the first time the collection of the National Museum of China will be displayed in Russia. This project is part of the official programme for the Years of Culture of Russia and China (2024-2025).

“For the Moscow Kremlin Museums, which carry out active exhibition activities abroad, the conclusion of a cooperation agreement with TV BRICS is very important,” said Gagarina. “We have found a reliable international partner, and I am sure our interaction will be interesting and beneficial for both parties. Together we will be able to introduce the collections of the Moscow Kremlin Museums to a much larger audience on different continents – both in the BRICS countries and in other regions of the international media network’s presence.”

Polyakov highlighted TV BRICS’ focus on strengthening humanitarian cooperation among BRICS nations. He said the network aims to provide comprehensive support to significant state and international events that further these goals. As a partner, TV BRICS intends to enhance the profile of the Moscow Kremlin Museums and promote it as a vital part of global historical and artistic heritage. The media network plans to utilise its resources, including the TV BRICS portal and TV channel, available in six languages, and its network of over 80 media partners worldwide.

The Moscow Kremlin Museums comprise several significant sites of Russian national heritage, including the Armoury Chamber, the Assumption, Annunciation and Archangel Cathedrals, the ensemble of the Ivan the Great Bell Tower, and the Patriarch’s Palace. The ensemble of the Moscow Kremlin and Red Square is recognised by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site.

Currently, the exhibition “The Legacy of Peter the Great and Coups d’État in the Russian Empire,” featuring items from 14 museums, archives and libraries in Moscow and St. Petersburg, is being held in the exhibition halls of the Assumption Belfry and the Patriarch’s Palace. The exhibition “Temple of Minerva. 270th Anniversary of Moscow University” is on display in the State Anteroom of the Armoury Chamber. Simultaneously, the National Museum of China in Beijing is hosting the exhibition “Russian Feast – Traditional Food, Drinks and the Art of Table Setting. From the Collection of the Moscow Kremlin Museums”.
