Two university students brutally stabbed in Sheikh Zayed

CAIRO: The brutal stabbing of two university students in a compound in Sixth of October City’s Sheikh Zayed district shocked the nation when it was reported Friday in most local newspapers.

The two female victims, Heba Ibrahim Al-Akad, 23, the daughter of Moroccan singer Laila Ghofran, and her Saudi friend Nadine Khaled Gamal were found by Nadine’s fiancé, stabbed in the latter’s apartment in Al Nada complex.

According to Al-Ahram daily, Al-Akad’s fiancé Ali Essam Al-Din had reported the crime to the police after arriving at the scene of the crime when his dying fiancé had called him to say they were attacked by an anonymous group of men.

When he arrived Gamal was already dead, so Essam Al-Din rushed Al-Akad to hospital, where she later died.

A full-fledged investigation is currently underway.
