CAIRO: Ittihad board member Sherif Al-Helw says the coastal club will extend coach Carlos Cabral s stay only if his financial demands are reasonable.

The Alexandrian side suffered an abysmal start to the season under Taha Besri, but their league campaign significantly improved after Cabral took the helm.

The Brazilian tactician, whose contract with Ittihad runs out at the season s end, is widely expected to call for a better pay in the close season.

We hired Cabral under certain circumstances and he has fulfilled his task, Al-Helw told FilGoal.com.

But if he wants to stay on at Ittihad, he has to be logical. Otherwise, we will look for a new tactician.

FilGoal.com understands that Cabral has opened talks with Ittihad s neighbors Smouha, who compete at the first division.

The former Zamalek boss might take over at Smouha should they secure an Egyptian Premier League spot.
