Automech Formula sees strong presence of 24 auto companies

The events of the Automech Formula 2016—one of the most important specialised car exhibitions in Egypt, as well as the Middle East and North Africa—concluded on Monday.

The exhibition is supported by the International Organisation of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) and the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI).

The exhibition attracted exhibitors and consumers, more than half a million of whom visited over the past six days. The 23rd session of this exhibition was held over in a space of 45,000 sqm, across eight halls.

More than 10 companies held press conferences to announce their future plans and new car models to be launched in the Egyptian market. These companies also discussed the most important challenges facing in the Egyptian market, especially the currency crisis and its impact on future policies of the companies and car pricing policies in Egypt.

Automech Formula 2016 included more than 24 global cars brands, the most prominent of which were: Toyota, BMW, Opel, Chevrolet, Kia, Ford, Renault, Jaguar, Land Rover, Volkswagen, MINI, Peugeot, Alfa Romeo, Subaru, Nissan, Mazda, Suzuki, Hyundai, Changan, Buick,  Jeep Fiat, Brilliance, Ssangyong, Chery and SAIPA.

However, Mercedes-Benz, SEAT, Geely, BYD, Volkswagen, Audi, and Škoda were absent.
