The National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) assigned work for the third phase of Metro Line 3 to an alliance of Egyptian companies and the French company Vinci at a cost of EGP1.8bn.
NAT announced the results of the technical and financial results of the tender for the project on its website following the studies’ completion by NAT’s advisory committee.
NAT formally accepted the technical proposals submitted by the French company Vinci in partnership with an alliance of Egyptian companies, with a 94.4% evaluation score, as well as the offer submitted by Spanish company OHL, which has a 88.05% evaluation score, for the implementation of the third phase of Metro Line 3.
A subsidiary of the Ministry of Transport, NAT was established in 1983 to carry out the implementation of Egypt’s Metro projects
Since its establishment, NAT has implemented more than 83 km of Metro lines in addition to the auxiliary installations and facilities, with investments that amount to approximately EGP 23bn and at a rate of EGP 700m per year.
