Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine El-Kabbaj launched, on Monday, an e-portal to receive citizens’ inquiries and complaints, particularly regarding the Takaful and Karama cash transfer programme. The e-portal, which has been made available via the Ministry’s official website, reduces the need for physical interaction.

The switch to online services comes as part of the ministry’s precautionary measures to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), El-Kabbaj said. At the same time, the new online service is to provide transparency in all Takaful and Karama services.

El-Kabbaj pointed out that the portal is a step towards digital transformation, as the website is concerned with registering citizen complaints. It also allows citizens to check the amount of money specified for disbursement before going to post offices.

Citizens can directly access the new portal through the ministry’s official website. It also provides videos via its official YouTube channel, which explain how to use the portal. By entering their national ID number, citizens have the opportunity to conduct inquiries or submit complaints, in addition to tracking the complaint for the ministry’s response.
