Prometeon Tyre Egypt has announced it is donating a respirator and medical equipment towards a fully equipped operating room at the Alexandria Fever Hospital.
The step comes in support of national efforts to provide the best possible health care within the most important isolation hospitals in Egypt, to help combat the coronavirus. It also comes as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) to support healthcare workers battle the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Prometeon Tyre Egypt, which specialises in heavy transport tire manufacturing, performed a needs assessment and agreed in a meeting with the hospital administration that its contributions will provide advanced medical equipment.
This includes a respirator, sterilisers, air conditioning units, blood pressure monitors, and other devices needed to equip an integrated operating room. It will also be equipping the suite attached to the operating room.
“Our role as a firm investor in the industry in Egypt is to do our best and extend a helping hand to support Egypt’s white army in these difficult times, especially those who are standing in front lines,” said Antonio Dolgetta, CEO of Prometeon Tyre Egypt.
“We launched the “Together” initiative within the company to allow all of our 1,200 employees the opportunity to contribute part of their wages to support the Alexandria Fever Hospital. We must all aspire to provide the utmost support to our society,” we added, “We are proud to support the fever hospital in Alexandria in its vital role in the diagnosis and health isolation during the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.”
