ABU DHABI: Visitors to the Etisalat stand at the CityScape Abu Dhabi exhibition will have the chance to experience a simulated “Smart Home environment, which supports and controls everything from entertainment options such as music, television or movies, to basic comforts such as lighting and window shades.

Using a touch controlled central command center, you can automate everything in your home or office, the company said in a press statement.

Centralized controls allow homeowners to adjust the temperature according to their work schedules and the different rooms they use at various points in the day. You can even adjust the system from a remote location with just a few clicks. Audio systems provide music, radio or satellite broadcasts throughout the home. Security systems can control lights, cameras, doors, gates and alert systems from a single location.

Etisalat is represented this year by five of its companies at the exhibition: E-Real Estate; E-Facilities Management; Special Projects; Ubiquitous Telecommunications Technologies (UTT); and E-Vision.

These organizations have the capabilities to deploy Fiber to the Home (FTTH) bringing high-bandwidth connectivity and rich content to new buildings across the UAE and into many of Etisalat’s operational, international markets.

Ahmed Al Jarwan, the general manager of Etisalat’s E-Real Estate Unit, said, “Our participation in this event demonstrates Etisalat’s commitment and dedication to support the development and modernization of the UAE. Etisalat is leading the way through providing an end-to-end smart home and intelligence office solutions.

Etisalat’s Real Estate unit operates in all Etisalat buildings and sites, ensuring optimum service in the company’s units.

Al Jarwan added, “Etisalat is proud to sponsor the Cityscape Architectural Review Awards (CARA) 2008 in recognition of the creativity and innovation of architectural expertise and great initiatives of the major developers in UAE real estate industry.

“We also strongly support the UAE initiative for green building and environment control in line with the UAE government directives.
