Dubai: Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) is planning to hold special promotional road shows in Egypt in the last quarter of 2007 in collaboration with the UAE Embassy following a huge demand for information from potential investors at the recent Interbuild 2007 exhibition in Cairo, according to a statement released to the press.

Businesses operating in Egypt’s 10th of Ramadan and 6th of October industrial areas have shown deep interest in setting up operations in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, when they met Jafza officials at the event.

Interbuild is a biennial event that brings together suppliers and manufacturers of building materials, ventilation and air conditioning, security systems, IT services, transports services, energy management and related components and interior designers.

Over the years, Interbuild Egypt has become an integral part of the infrastructural development of Egypt. It has helped builders and developers to keep pace with the constantly changing industry trends, construction technology, emerging markets and other related issues.

The exhibition attracts decision makers, buyers and investors from around the world.

Mohammad Al Banna, vice president of commercial sales, Jafza, who led the delegation to Interbuild, said, “Dubai’s booming economy holds great attraction for businesses globally, particularly for the construction and building materials industry. We have held a number of meetings with businesses from the US, Europe and the Middle East who are interested in knowing more about Dubai in general, and particularly Jafza and the available incentives for investors.

The Jafza team also met members of the American-Egyptian Chamber of Commerce, and the Canadian-Egyptian Chamber of Commerce to discuss cooperation. It was agreed that the chambers will invite guest speakers from Jafza to one of their quarterly meetings, and take other measures to promote closer cooperation.

In his meeting with the UAE Ambassador to Egypt Ahmed Al Za’abi, Al Banna discussed details of the road shows to be held in last quarter of 2007, and the Ambassador assured the Jafza team of his continued support to their efforts.
