CAIRO: Hassan Shehata hailed Egypt’s African Cup of Nations achievement as the Pharaohs squad arrived in Cairo airport from Accra on Monday morning.
The champions were received by President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak as well as thousands of ecstatic fans, who celebrated the trophy with the players.
“We played great football in order to hand the title to the nation, said Shehata, who has become only the second manager in Africa’s history to clinch back-to-back titles.
“It was very tough, our opponents were all top teams, but our style was dominant.
