CAIRO: Zamalek drew 1-1 with Neuchatel Xamax of Switzerland in the off-season friendly played on Tuesday.
Striker Sherif Ashraf broke the deadlock on 65 minutes before Nuechatel leveled the score 10 minutes later.
The game was part of the White Knights Swiss training camp, where they earlier lost to Sochaux and beat UEFA Cup champions Shakhtar Donetsk.
Zamalek coach Michel Decastel fielded a number of new faces, who didn’t take part against Sochaux or Shakhtar including Sabri Rahil and Ayman Abdel-Aziz.
It was also the Zamalek debut for newly-signed Brazilian striker Anderson.
The Swiss tactician opted to rest Amr Zaki, Mahmoud “Shikabala Abdel-Razeq, Hazem Emam and Ahmed Al-Merghani.
Following the game, Decastel said that he was pleased with his players performance.
