CAIRO: Zamalek playmaker Shikabala is close to signing a contract extension with the club, team coordinator Ibrahim Hassan said.
We have reached an agreement with Shikabala over a three-year extension to his contract, Hassan told FilGoal.com.
Shikabala, 23, will run out of contract in June and is expected to sign a new deal worth LE 6.5 million, FilGoal.com has learnt.
The contract will also include a minimum fee release clause of ?2 million, only for offers received from non-Egyptian clubs.
Prior to the African Cup of Nations, Shikabala was targeted by Italian side Napoli, who were willing to pay ?3 million for the services of the Egypt international.
However, the bid, claimed by agent Ahmed Soweilam, hasn’t arrived before the January transfer deadline.
