CAIRO: Hossam Osama and Youssef Hamdi filed a complaint to the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) against Zamalek after the club registered them in its preliminary squad for the new season.
The duo told FilGoal.com on Sunday that this registration could ruin their chances of moving to a new club before the start of the season.
They demanded to be given financial compensation in their complaint to the EFA.
Although French boss Henri Michel told the players that this is not part of the requirements, Zamalek opted for their registration in order not to lose them rather then benefiting from selling them.
The EFA regulations state that if any player is not listed as part of the club’s local squad, he will not be committed to any club even if his contract is still running.
However, as Zamalek spokesman Khaled Gabr confirmed to FilGoal.com that the duo won t be registered in the final squad, they still can depart without Zamalek receiving any money.
Zamalek had turned down Ittihad s offers for striker Osama and right-back Hamdi.
