CAIRO: Dynamos Harare coach David Mandigora said that he will be happy to see Ahly s fans in support of his side against Zamalek in Sunday s CAF Champions League clash.
The Dynamos boss is aware of the perennial rivalry between Ahly and Zamalek as he doesn’t expect the visitors stands at Cairo Stadium to be packed with his team s supporters.
I will be so happy if Ahly s fans come to support us, as I don’t think our fans will exceed 100, Mandigora told FilGoal.com.
But you cannot expect Zimbabwean fans to support Ahly or Zamalek when they come to play in Harare, as all our rivals support us when we are in a national duty.
Mandigora declared that he watched Zamalek s 2-1 defeat to Ahly in the Group A clash two weeks ago, and was impressed by striker Gamal Hamza.
Number 10 from Zamalek, Mandigora said when asked about the best players he recognizes from the Cairo derby, referring to Hamza who scored the Whites only goal.
Dynamos reached the quarter-finals after surprisingly kicking out holders Etoile Sahel from the round of 16, before beating ASEC Mimosas 2-1 in the group opener.
The Zimbabwean champions are second in the group, only three points adrift of leaders Ahly, who secured a valuable point on Saturday following a goalless draw with ASEC in Abidjan.
