CAIRO: Ahly marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi denied that the club had signed Zamalek striker Gamal Hamza.
Earlier reports speculated that Hamza, whose contract with Zamalek expires by the end of the current season, has already signed for Ahly.
No one from Ahly even approached Hamza, Al-Qaeyi told FilGoal.com on Thursday.
The player is one of Zamalek s top stars, and I don’t think he will leave The Whites.
Al-Qaeyi stressed that if any contact was made with Hamza over a potential move to Ahly might have been through one of the club s fans rather than a board official.
The 26-year-old is the Zamalek player who always caught Ahly s eyes, as he scored seven times against the Red Devils in various Cairo derbies.
