CAIRO: Wagdy Yaseen Kassem, a 21-year-old tailor, strangled his sister Sabreen Yaseen, 19, with a hose after discovering her affair with her husband’s cousin.

He then shaved off her hair and eyebrows.

Kassem then went to Mohamed Mohamed, a lawyer, and confessed to the crime. The lawyer locked up Kassem in his office in El Badrasheen district and then called Ahmed Abd El Aal, chief investigator of south Egypt, to arrest the perpetrator.

Kassem had run away from his father’s house over a year ago after being charged in a drug case. He returned to the house a day before the incident only to find his sister locked up by her father because of the affair.
