CAIRO: ENPPI playmaker Walid Soliman has been called up to replace the injured Shikabala in Egypt’s squad for the friendly against DR Congo on Wednesday.
Zamalek star Shikabala has been omitted from the squad with a groin injury sustained in the league opening draw at Harras Hodoud.
Soliman’s last cap for Egypt came in a 1-1 draw against Malawi in December, as part of the team’s preparation for the 2010 African Cup of Nations.
Even though he was named in Hassan Shehata’s provisional squad for the tournament, the 25-year-old failed to make the Angola finals.
