CAIRO: Ahly are anxious over the fitness of midfielder Hossam Ashour who sustained a knee injury in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Masri.
The in-form midfielder had to be replaced by Shehab Ahmed at half time as Ahly await the results of a scan on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old is a major doubt for the Egyptian champions’ decisive Champions League clash with JS Kabylie next week.
Meanwhile, manager Hossam Al-Badri revealed his dissatisfaction with the Masri draw, but hopes his players can turn their focus to the continental competition.
"I am not happy with the performance. We have some deficiencies in some positions," he said.
"I don’t want to talk in detail, because there is a very important game with Kabylie coming."
