GB Auto’s passenger car sales in Egypt increased 17 percent over the previous year, according to the Automotive Marketing Information Council monthly report.
The number was up 6 percent over the previous month to 18,411 units in July 2010, according to Al-Ahram.
HC analysts said, “The figure is in line with the seasonal trend in [passenger car] market sales, which usually hit their peak during the summer months of July and August
“However, we do not expect August sales this year to be as strong as their historical levels or July levels because Ramadan, which is usually coupled with tightened household spending on discretionary items, has begun to move into the month of August.”
