Husband and wife duo Harry and Camila are first time designers for Alchemy Cairo. Dutchman Harry and Chilean-born Camilla designed an interesting collection of couches and armchairs for Alchemy Cairo.
Named the “Satellite Collection,” the three piece suite emphasizes the short height of the couch and two armchairs, pieces that at first glance seem to be quite contained and visually perceived as being small but when one sits inside, is cautiously cradling the sitter with space and size.
“It is like a sculpture,” says Harry, referring to the soft curves and contours of the couch.
On the collaboration process between themselves and Karim Mekhtigian Harry says: “Karim has become a good friend of mine, he lets you free and that’s why the relationship works. Even though he’s artistic director he doesn’t step in unless we ask for help and he trusts us.”
