CAIRO: Egyptian paintmaker Pachin’s six-month net profit rose 10 percent to LE 94.2 million ($16 million).

Net sales at Egypt’s largest listed paintmaker rose 2.4 percent to LE 368 million in the July-December period, chairman and chief executive Samir El-Sayyad also told Reuters on Tuesday.

Egypt’s economy is in turmoil after weeks of protests that ended President Hosni Mubarak’s three decades in power.

"We were not really impacted by the events because we closed for only a week but are now working at full capacity," Sayyed said.
