CAIRO: Egyptian mobile operator Orascom Telecom’s said on Wednesday its net income attributable to equity holders had soared in the first quarter of 2011 soared to $813 million, up from $49 million last year.
A Reuters poll of three analysts had forecast, on average, a net income of $907 million for the first quarter of 2011.
The company said revenues were $949 million, up 5 percent from the same period last year. EBITDA was $437 million, up 11 percent from last year, and its net debt stood at $3.1 billion at the end of the quarter, it added.
