Interim president Adly Mansour appointed on Friday morning political and constitutional advisors, just 24 hours after swearing the oath.
Mansour announced humanist and strategist Mostafa Higazy as his political advisor and chancellor Ali Awad Saleh as his constitutional advisor, reported state-run news agency MENA.
Higazy has 20 years of experience in the fields of sustainable strategies, development, strategic advisory and governance advocacy. Founder of the ACME Corp, Higazy also established the SQUARE Institute of Strategic Thinking, the AMCE Corp’s think-tank, and the ACME Approach for sustainable development.
Higazy contributed to the institutional transformation of a set of firms, institutions and governments in the Middle East. He is considered the first to have emphasised the term “humanised management” as an integral cornerstone of corporate culture for Middle Eastern corporations.
Saleh meanwhile is the former deputy chairman of the Supreme Constitutional Court (SCC). Saleh was the SCC’s representative in the first Constituent Assembly established to draft the constitution. He withdrew from the assembly in March 2012, shortly before the assembly was dissolved.
The new advisors are expected to assist the interim president in issuing his first constitutional declaration, expected to be released shortly.
The armed forces statement, which announced Mansour as interim president and ousted former President Mohamed Morsi, gave the former the authority to issue constitutional declarations.
