Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt Hisham Ramez told Reuters on Sunday that Egypt paid $700m of its debts to the Paris Club of creditor nations on 4 July.
In January, Egypt paid another $700m of its debts to the Paris Club, an informal group of creditor nations made up the world’s top 20 economies.
Ramez did not go into detail surrounding the total amount of Egypt’s debts to the Club.
