The Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC), represented by its director-general Alaa Ezz, has travelled to Russia to invite companies to attend the Economic Summit in March.

Egypt’s ambassador in Moscow Mohamed El-Badri, with the attendance of Ezz, hosted a conference to which several Russian companies were invited, FEDCOC said in Sunday statement.

Ezz gave a presentation on the major legislative and economic reforms currently taking place in Egypt to improve the investment climate. He detailed the events of the summit, its logistics and the international leaders and donor agencies participating in it.

El-Badri also outlined to the attendees the significance of the summit, saying that it is a “once in a life time” opportunity to rapidly enter the “emerging” Egyptian market and its national projects.

FEDCOC will also travel to France and Germany for the same purpose. Meanwhile, the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) will promote the summit across Africa. Last week, FEI head Mohamed El-Sewedy also said they have invited seven Chinese companies to the summit.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb stressed the Economic Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh will take place in March, denying any intention to postpone it, affected by the insecurity situation in Sinai.
