Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed Saturday bilateral relations and the developments across the Middle East in a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
During the phone conversation, the two ministers discussed a range of topics including Palestine, Libya, Yemen and Syria, according to a statement of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Lavrov spoke to Shoukry of the joint economic committee meeting’s postponement for technical reasons related to Russia’s domestic situation.
However, Lavrov also stressed the meeting’s importance and noted that it will be held in the near future. Decisions relating to trade and economic relations between Egypt and Russia will be discussed, the statement read.
