WPP multinational alliance was selected to organise the New Suez Canal international opening, to be held on 6 August. WPP was selected after fierce competition with different Egyptian and international coalitions, according to Suez Canal Authority Chairman Mohab Mamish.

Mamish said the WPP alliance includes seven international companies which are:  Ogilvy PR, Memac Ogilvy, Richard Attias and Associates, JWT, Mindshare and Media Wave PR.

“A promotional campaign will be launched in all capitals worldwide, Egyptian embassies abroad and international ports,” said  Edmond Moutran, Chairman and CEO of Ogilvy.

Mamish concluded that New Suez Canal drilling will completely be finished by 15 July. Afterwards, trials will be initiated to prepare for the international and great opening on 6 August.
